Dr. Furee Sung, a passionate pianist and educator, has captivated audiences across North America, Europe, and Asia with her profound artistry and charismatic performances. Her journey in music is marked by a legacy of excellence, beginning with top prizes in prestigious competitions like the Korean Music Association Competition and the Eum-Yeon Competition.
She further distinguished herself at the Bartok-Kabalevsky-Prokofiev International Piano Competition and the Sorantin International Competition for Piano and Strings. Dr. Sung's performances have graced renowned venues such as the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver, the Rolston Recital Hall at the Banff Centre for the Arts, and the Academy of Music in Philadelphia.
Her academic credentials include a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Music (M.M.) from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Arts (M.A.) from the University of Ottawa, studying under the tutelage of acclaimed pianists like Jane Coop, Logan Skelton, and Jean-Paul Sevilla. As a dedicated educator, Dr. Sung combines her extensive performance experience with a deep understanding of pedagogy to inspire the next generation of musicians.
